I recently went through a fall clean up and found my old 2008 Toll Brothers, Bowes Creek builder’s file. Back in the day, the homes were priced for $492K and up to $548,995 for the Carmel Williamsburg. My, how times have changed! This morning, I ran a list from Bowes Creek through the MLS and found all sorts of recent foreclosures, short sales and very long listing hang times and most were $150K off the high. Yet, the community is still beautiful, well made and in a great location for the far west suburbs. The amentities are very nice and the builder, Toll Brothers, is top notch. It is an unbeatable combination for many families who are ready to move up into a custom new home or a resale home in pristine condition. Although many homes are gigantic in square footage, a few have floor plans that don’t feel vacant while you’re home. My favorites include the ones with the solariums and/or libraries. This builder does a nice nook and a beautiful kitchen. My only wish would be an upgrade to those windows like the Therma Tru front doors. Which by now, they might have! All in all, an exceptional value these days can be had in the Bowes Creek subdivision in Elgin.
