I visited an open house on July 15th in west Elgin to see what a pre-fabricated Matrix basement looks like. The property was a newer home and offered an deep pour basement, so the drop ceilings were at 9 feet. Details such as crown molding, french doors, tile floors and can lights were upgraded features that worked beautifully in this 2000 square foot basement. But I was most impressed with the quality of the materials. You can hang a heavy, framed portrait on the matrix walls, without studs, up to 300 lbs. The sound proofing was excellent, as was the insulation factor. The smooth finish of the walls was seemless. These pre-fab walls were not cheap fold out rice paper walls.
Plus, they offer do-it-yourself material packages or they can install it for you. Completed projects, starting from the time to design and final installation is just under 8 weeks. Financing is available, so I would give Matrix basements a thumbs-up. Check out a Matrix basement in your area and you won’t be disappointed.
